Print Comment
SUTHERLIN: A free meteorite program will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sutherlin Community Center, 150 S. Willamette St.

The program, with a 45-minute slide show followed by open discussion, will be presented by Dick Pugh, scientist from the Cascadia Meteorite Laboratory of Portland State University. The program is sponsored by the C. Giles Hunt Memorial Library.

Pugh brings $15,000 worth of meteorites and encourages those in attendance to pick up and handle the rocks from space.

Anyone who has found a rock that he or she would like to have identified or thinks may be a meteorite is asked to bring it to the program.

Information: 957-4774.
